ONLINE EXAMINATIONS for STUDENTS of Grades 1-5, 7, 8, 11 and SPED Department:

To correctly and properly determine the academic grade of the students who haven’t yet taken their 4th quarter exams, the school will administer the 4th Quarter Online Examination on March 24 and 25, 2020, Tuesday and Wednesday.  It will be as if your child has never left school!

Since the COVID-19 quarantine has not spared any one of us in disrupting our schedules, the school will now implement its plan of using available online/distance learning technology to get back on track.  School interruptions such as calamities, typhoons, floods, and most recently, this COVID-19 pandemic, etc. will not be a hindrance anymore to the school’s aim to deliver education even without the physical meeting of the students and their teachers.  No school disruption will ever be a problem again since we have set up our facility to do remote learning via online education.

Together with you, we can ensure that this undertaking will be a tremendous success.  Listed below are the steps to take:

  1. Advisers will closely coordinate and contact the parents, students or both about the procedures that they need to follow to ensure the validity and integrity of this online exam.  The advisers will try a TECHNICAL TEST RUN prior to the exam date to see if the students can take the test without any problems.
  2. All students will be CO-PROCTORED by their parents and/or guardians.  Parents (and other people in the house) are strongly discouraged from coaching or helping their child/ward by opening their books, searching for answers online, etc. since this defeats the purpose of the exam.  We wish to really see and find out what they have learned for the school year so that we may really analyse their strengths and weaknesses in the different learning areas.
  3. Parents/students will use their gadgets (tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc. with a camera) so that the teacher adviser can co-proctor the child while the test is in progress.
  4. Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection of the device is stable.
  5. Free up possible device storage space for better performance.
  6. Make sure that the device will not die out in the middle of the test.  Make sure it has enough charge.  Better yet, keep it plugged if needed.
  7. Make sure that the camera can view the child’s WHOLE BODY AND THE SURROUNDINGS of his/her testing corner which you need to designate in your homes.  This area must be free from distractions and other people as much as possible for your child to be able to concentrate on the tests.  The camera must have a stable surface and MUST NOT BE MOVED once the test is in progress.
  8. Make sure that the volume of the device is turned on so that the teacher and the students can hear each other.
  9. Absolutely no talking to anyone in your homes once the test session has started.
  10. Only a clean piece of bond paper, ballpen or pencil, and an eraser will be on hand for the child/ren to use and nothing more.
  11. Teachers may use the different platforms to deliver the exams, such as via email, Messenger, Hangouts, Skype, Edmodo, Google Classroom, etc.  The adviser will tell you which ones you need to install in your device so that this will be facilitated in the fastest and easiest way possible for all parties.
  12. A schedule of exams is to be followed.  It will be given out to you by the advisers.
  13. A strict time limit is given to answer each exam.  Once the exam is finished, the students/parents must submit the exam to the account of the subject teacher, which will be given out by the adviser.  Late submissions will not be accepted.  Whether the child is finished or not finished, the test must be sent to the subject teacher immediately.
  14. Tutors may still tutor their tutees via online means.

We know that you are one with us in the ideals of this online test.  We only want to close out the school year with the complete academic grades of all students.  The number of COVID-19 cases hasn’t been going down, and we won’t take the risk to keep your child’s grades hanging in the balance.  We are not sure if they can safely take the test in school already by April and whether the Luzon-wide quarantine will be lifted by that time.  Nevertheless, we humbly ask for your patience and understanding in our implementation of this online quarterly test.

On a brighter note, we wish to remind everyone that enrolment is still on-going for school year 2020-2021.  There are still big discounts that await early enrolees, especially in preschool, Gr. 1, 7, and 11 levels.  You may transact with our business office via online banking or via bank deposits.  The school’s bank details will be given upon request.

(deleted bank account details for privacy concerns)

As part of the skeletal workforce, our office personnel may go to school if you wish or request for business transactions during office hours, Monday to Saturday. Just wear mask, practice social distancing and please sanitize as you enter the school premises.

We also wish to remind everyone (especially those with overdue accounts), that you may also deposit payments on or before these exam dates.  Please also settle the accounts of your child (if there are any) from the canteen and from our school bus service. Kindly please send the picture of the deposit slip or payment receipt (with the child’s name and your contact number) to Sir Raiceph’s messenger so that your child’s name will be cleared. All these are for the operations of the school and for the support of up-to-date improvements, one of which is this online classroom.

If worse comes to worst, we may see us holding classes online if the situation calls for it for next school year, hence, there is no need to worry about your child’s continuing education.  But let’s knock on wood and let’s focus first on the task at hand. It has been our pleasure to have taught valuable life lessons to your children once again.  Thank you so much for your utmost understanding of everyone’s entire COVID-19 plight.  In these uncertain times, we will make sure that your child’s education will be as certain as the sun rising in the east.  Stay healthy, stay strong, stay indoors and stay connected Anneans!  May the Good Lord and the intercession of Good Ste. Anne see us through with relentless Annean spirits!
